    I am 57 years old right now and have been battling fibromyalgia for over 32 years. With fibro it’s not simple to go through every day. A normal person tends to lose his energy with time, he / she can’t walk properly, can’t bring up heavyweights, etc. But these symptoms occur a little sooner in the event of fibro than a normal person. One of the main problems for fibro patients, particularly for the elderly, is that they have bad equilibrium and dizziness, which ultimately causes you to fall a lot. These are minor complaints for some individuals, but sometimes you get seriously injured due to the fall, which is a significant problem for all fibro sufferers.

    Fibro patients, whether mild or severe, are always in constant pain. The last thing we need is to hurt the fall. Together with Pain and fatigue, it is a very serious problem.

    For most of the day, the fear of falling and injury will make you inactive. For instance, if you must go upstairs to do some work, you’d likely believe that going upstairs would take a tremendous quantity of energy and what if I slipped upstairs and injured myself. Approximately 74 percent of Fibromyalgia patients are afraid of physical activity, and nearly 80 percent of patients have a balance issue, according to a recent research in Clinical Rheumatology.

    In fact, falling is not a symptom, but a result of bad equilibrium and dizziness. So, what are we going to do about these issues?

    Fibromyalgia and Dizziness

    Dizziness occurs mostly when you rapidly stand up. You may not feel any dizziness if you are sitting or lying down. It works like a “Head Rush,” you’re going to feel dizzy as quickly as you attempt to stand up. You may need to lose this dizziness for a minute or two or you may break down. This dizziness will make you move slowly so that you don’t fall.

    Dizziness and fainting may be part of the same subset, according to the 2017 study published in the “European Journal of Pain.”

    As well as many other symptoms, this subgroup also had the most serious pain. Most of these symptoms are comparable to many other circumstances such as “fibro flare,” syndrome of the irritable intestine, Restless leg syndrome, and Vulvodynia.

    Dizziness is triggered by Autonomous Nervous System ANS dysfunction, also known as dys-autonomy, according to studies.

    The autonomous nervous system (ANS) is accountable for many of our body’s critical functions such as heart rate, digestion, metabolism, and body temperature.

    Dizziness induced by Autonomous Nervous System ANS can also be called orthostatic intolerance or tachycardia syndrome (POTS) postural orthostatic. These things mean, in Simple Words, that heart and brain do not communicate with each other correctly.

    So, what occurs when you stand up from a place of lying or sitting. Under ordinary condition, your heart offers your brain with enough oxygen to maintain healthy blood pressure when you stand up. When you stand up with Dysautonomia, your heart doesn’t give your brain enough blood to make you feel light-headed or dizzy. The heart rate in POTS accelerates as blood pressure falls.

    Dizziness will also create you feel that as you run, your heart beats very quickly. It can also trigger pain in the chest and blurred vision.

    Researchers discovered in a 2008 research that dizziness and rapid heartbeat are more prevalent than fainting. They also proposed that POTS is one of their primary symptoms during testing.

    Balance and Walking Problems in Fibromyalgia

    Research suggested walking individuals with fibromyalgia is different from ordinary individuals. A 2009 study reported that approximately 30% of people with fibromyalgia had an abnormal way of walking.

    A study on functional efficiency is being performed in 2017, scientists said gait and equilibrium in fibromyalgia were significantly impaired. Included differences:

    • Shorter pitch.
    • Moving on to a slow pace.

    • Researchers also discovered that in individuals with more pain, fatigue, and anxiety, equilibrium and walking were worse.

    Hello Old Friend, darkness. I miss you.

    I miss you. My chest has an invisible heavy weight, I can’t breathe.

    Pain is so serious and crushing for the soul that it feels like a mountain falls on me.

    Even the slightest touch of fear of getting hurt has taken over every nerve of my body. My hands burn hot while my feet are exceedingly cold. My vision is so upset, it feels like I’m blind.

    Even though I get the feeling that the entire world is left at me and there’s nothing I can do but there’s a will that make me go every day. I wake up feeling like I died last night and Reborn again last night. I’m trying to pull my way out desperately, but all the effort is pointless and exhausting.

    Even though I try to get out of this miserable pain, my clawing becomes slower and less efficient. All the time I feel tired and can’t get rid of all this pain and tiredness.

    I wake up every day, hoping it would be better this day than the past one.

    I feel better than most days sometime, but for me some days are the worst.

    If I have a good day and go shopping or cleaning my home, I understand it’s going to be worse for me the next 3 days, filled with miserable pain and fatigue.

    1. What Having a Chronic Illness Feels to Me

    In the past, I have repeated the process of being buried alive many times. Let me clarify what it means to me buried alive.

    Usually when an individual is diagnosed with fibromyalgia he / she wonders what it is and how can I get rid of this miserable pain and tiredness. You begin to discover responses to your issues using social media and other platforms, you begin to meet individuals with the same disease as you do, but you become desperate and feel broken hearing after knowing there is no adequate cure for it. For the remainder of your lives, you’re in it. Your days and night are so wretched that you feel buried alive.

    For over 20 years, I have been suffering from fibromyalgia. I went through this phase and felt many times that my heart was broken. Sometimes pain, fatigue, depression, and anxiety are so miserable that I’d believe I’m forever in darkness, but at the end of each tunnel there’s light and I’m hoping to discover it.

    2. Experiencing the Darkness

    I’ll share some of my experiences below. You also had these experiences to go through:

    For a normal person, every day is a fresh day, but for us sufferers, every day is as miserable or even worse than the past one. You wake up in pain and tired and go to bed in the worst pain.

    I attempted a lot of medicines and home remedies, but everything was in vain. There are many side effects of medication that make it even more hazardous.

    As physicians generally recommend, I have attempted many therapies and yoga courses, but rather than alleviating pain, they appear to contribute to it.

    My family also contributes with their hurtful words to my pain. One of the most common lines I heard was “You don’t look sick, you look good.”

    I’ve spent this miserable disease thousands of dollars. It’s also a problem for me to experience economic problems owing to fibromyalgia.

    Friends and family seem to doubt me because of my situation each time I cancel plans with them. I wanted to be invited to events, but because of my illness I can’t join them.

    In this, my family has refused to give me economic support and it feels like I’m being dumped.

    Everyone in the workplace considers me with creepy eyes as if I were some sort of alien.

    My family thinks that I’m a burden on them because I don’t do anything, just stay at home and cause difficulty.

    Knowing that I’m like this for the remainder of my life causes me to go into anxiety and depression.

    People suggest that I embrace weight loss fitness system. They don’t understand how difficult it is to think about it.

    3. Finding the Light

    As I described above, I hope you get a nice image of my situation. This is all the dark side, but on the bright side let’s look now.

    I get a day when my pain is less than usual once in a blue moon, that day is no less than a miracle. You can wander around the house or take a shower, etc.

    Sometimes I get news of a fresh treatment or medication on the internet and believe this might be the search for the cure medical society. Unfortunately, all these therapies and medicines only provided temporary relief.

    A friend’s or a colleague’s consultation can also create your day. Even though they can do nothing about it at least if they know your pain, there may be great assistance in kind phrases. This feels like shoveling away from me on the earth.

    If your manager or boss understands your pain, he / she is likely to relieve some job burden from you.

    Doctors don’t understand what I’m going through these days. It’s also a blessing to have a physician who truly understands your suffering.

    All in all, we can’t always rely on the good days or opportunities for new therapies, nor hypothesize them. The only constants that can be our own quest for beauty, hope, and other people’s kindness to assist us keep the dark at bay.

    4. A Helping Hand

    Only someone with chronic disease can really comprehend another chronic sufferer’s pain, so if you encounter someone with fibromyalgia, be polite to them and ask if they need your assistance. Helping someone often makes you feel happier with yourself. Often people with chronic disease ask for assistance are awful, but we need your assistance. Stay, and assist each other, strong fighter.     This article’s sole purpose is to give our friends and family an idea that “we don’t fake it.”

    Fibromyalgia is a concealed and mysterious disease. Outside, the person with fibromyalgia appears healthy, which leads the other individuals to see us in good shape, while inside only patients with fibromyalgia realize he / she is struggling with 100 symptoms.

    For the medical society, Fibromyalgia is a mystery. Doctors on patients attempt distinct medications, but not all these medications work for all patients equally. Some may get relief, but others may get a flare, or the condition may even get serious. Finding a suitable cure for this is continuing research.

    There’s a common saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” There is a prevalent view in the fibro patient family that the individual does not try to feel better. Like we don’t eat well or do not do adequate workouts or workouts to improve. They don’t understand that a straightforward exercise of 2-5 minutes can trigger a fibro flare or fatigue that can last for days.

    Another misconception is that a psychological problem is fibromyalgia. A good individual would believe there’s nothing in medical tests or reports about how a fibro patient can have hundreds of symptoms. Many individuals see fibromyalgia as a psychological problem because of this reality. You’re going to feel tired all the time and there’s no energy in your body, that’s why you need a lot of assistance and support from your family, friends and colleagues. Many individuals must modify their habits or even their employment because of fibro.

    A mixture of many ups and downs is life with fibromyalgia. You wake up one day and may feel vigorous. You’re going out shopping for food, taking a warm shower, cleaning your house, etc. But on another day, you wake up and your entire body gets hurt. You can’t even get up from bed. A slight motion hurts like hell. Even breathing hurts at times.

    Fibromyalgia Patients are experiencing misery every day. Even if a patient with fibro does not mention that he / she is in pain that is constantly agonizing. In their surroundings, they always feel small changes. Like a tiny drop / increase in temperature or even the slightest touch will feel like hell. This type of impairment is called sensory overload.

    The patient is highly susceptible to light, noise, touch and odor. An easy way to comprehend all this is to position yourself in the fibro-patient’s location. People with fibromyalgia generally avoid physical contacts such as hugs, slapping, thumbing on the shoulder or shaking hands as their entire body is in pain and these physical contacts cause more serious pain. If a person from Fibro doesn’t shake your hand or hug you, it doesn’t mean he or she doesn’t like you.

    Talk about tiredness. Fibro tiredness is distinct from ordinary tiredness. A normal person tired came home from the office, he’s going to take a good night’s bed, and the next morning he’s going to be fresh and energetic, but a fibrous person can’t get fresh from sleep. For the remainder of our life, it’s like we’re weary. Patients with fibro not only physically exhausted, but also mentally exhausted. They are unable to believe obviously (Fibro Fog).

    Another common misunderstanding is that patients with fibro are anti-social. They’re not going to meet individuals. We’re just not going to the parties or meeting because we have a restricted quantity of energy that’s far less than a normal person and spending that energy on a case like a party or social gathering could get us to sleep for several days. It’s not that we don’t like going out, but on parties we just can’t afford to go out.

    Another important thing about patients with fibro is that they have memory problems. Regardless of whether they are important or not, they can’t remember stuff. They also find it difficult to concentrate on stuff. These all happen because of fibro fog, so trust her when a fibro patient says she can’t remember. She’s not doing it intentionally. Writing stuff down would be a popular answer to this problem.

    Stress is the key to a lot of illnesses. If we can get rid of stress, anxiety, and depression, most of our diseases will go away. This rule applies to patients with fibro as well. Stress may cause symptoms to worsen for us. Always attempt to give fibro patients at home a calm and quiet atmosphere to prevent flares.

    As discussed before, patients with Fibro tend to isolate themselves, but that doesn’t mean they want to end their social life or don’t want to satisfy you. On the other side, try to keep in touch with her. Help her in daily duties such as cooking, picking up college kids. Show her your affection when required so that she can feel that she is not alone in this and that in this hard moment everyone is with her.

    Friends and family support and always help make life much simpler for fibro patients. Although we can do very little about the disease, helping her in the daily routine is very good for her. Don’t try to nudge away because this kind of approach doesn’t matter to you. This will affect your physical and emotional link with her considerably.

    My kind recommendation to close circle fibro patients is that instead of just thinking this disease is made up. Try to find it on the web. There are plenty of fibromyalgia locations and articles that obviously show that this disease is not a MADE-UP disease. Sometimes you weep like what happens to me in a corner. You’re stuck in your own body and you can’t do anything about it.
